Yeni Boğaziçi is a suburb of Famagusta, located just 10 minutes' drive from the city center. The green area on the sea coast is being actively built up, and its developed infrastructure attracts foreign property buyers.

Yeni Boğaziçi is a village located near the ancient city of Salamis, the largest and most fortified city in Cyprus during the Hellenistic times.

Now the village is growing rapidly, and modern residential complexes with apartments, villas, and townhouses are being built here.

The population, according to the latest statistics, is about six thousand people, but during the holiday season, there are more people: wealthy Europeans, and tourists with children who like to relax here.

You can reach Yeni Boğaziçi from Ercan National Airport by car in about 45 minutes. 

If you are planning a trip by public transport, you will first have to go to Famagusta, and from there - by minibus (dolmush).

Interestingly, Yeni Boğaziçi joined the association called "Slow City".

This program is aimed at improving the quality of life, slowing down its rhythm - residents are encouraged to walk more, for which convenient pedestrian zones, embankments, and parks are being built.

The most popular private beach is at the Salamis Hotel, where you can not only swim and sunbathe, but also visit the water park, SPA, casino, and go to a local restaurant.

In the evenings, concerts and discos are held on private beaches at the hotels.

The beginning of beach season in Yeni Boğaziçi starts in May, but some tourists swim earlier. Until the very end of September, the water remains warm, it warms up to the maximum by August.

Infrastructure in Yeni Boğaziçi

Yeni Boğaziçi has everything for a comfortable life: shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, restaurants, hairdressers, and clinics. In terms of infrastructure facilities, the village almost does not lag behind Famagusta.

It is comfortable to live here with children: if you have a residence permit, you can arrange a child in a municipal school and enroll in sports clubs without much delay.

In the fall of 2022, a branch of the Near East University Hospital was opened in the village with a laboratory, an intensive care unit, and a 24-hour emergency room.

The first department of cardiac surgery, coronary, and neonatal surgery in the region is also located here, the clinic is equipped with modern tomographs and an MRI machine.

A few years ago, a branch of Near East College opened in the village. It is a school where children study up to 12 years. The menu of schoolchildren is developed by a nutritionist and posted on the website of the school. In the mornings and after classes children are transported by a school bus.

A large indoor sports complex has also recently opened in the village. A library is being actively built, which will provide school children and students with access to 750,000 printed books.

The plans of the TRNC authorities include the construction of an airport, which should give a serious impetus to the development of Cypriot civil aviation.
